If there is a pen in my hand, which is everyday, I doodle. I received a stack of little black books as a gift from my friend, Kathleen Kasinger. Each bound book has 100 pages and fits nicely in my back pocket. Kathleen suggested I keep my sketches in one place. I filled the stack in a week.
I now have a library of these little black books. My collection is a random sampling of whatever it is I am moved to draw. After years of this compulsion, I was asked what it is that I draw. Curious myself, I began scanning the images and placing them into categories.
I have custom designed textiles for Stacy Logan rugs from some of my "doodles". I produced an art exhibit incorporating my designs from my books with simple backgrounds, reversing the black ink to white lines. From this collection, I create a platform inviting designers to custom design there own pieces.
immix is an interactive experience where the client chooses custom colors, a layout and an image from among a library of over one hundred images in categories such as round, floral, modern, and linear. Designer, David Robertson, in keeping with his approach in contemporary design, chose modern images while incorporating his signature color, orange.
